Super Bounce
Story
Super Bounce has no narrative structure and is only a game
of objective and challenge. The aim of the game is to try and hit the ball into
your opponent’s goal(side). The player(s) prevents the ball from entering the
goal by defending it with a platform they control. Super Bounce is a simple yet
fun game that provides the player entertainment. Learning from this game that a
challenge can grasp a player’s attention without the need of a narrative
structure. I am thinking of adding a fun challenge all players can achieve in
game to make it entertaining.
Art
The art in Super Bounce is simple and basic. The game has a
purple background in which two platforms, one red and the other blue are in the
foreground. The animation of the ball features a light glowing around it which
makes the ball seem like its travelling fast. Moreover, another animation
effect occurs when the ball collides with an object creating a mini explosion.
These animations help the player understand what the ball reacts to (walls
& platform) and what does not (goal).
Game-play
Pong |
The usual controls are used in Super Bounce. The left and
right arrow keys are used to move your platform. As explained in the story, the
objective of the game is to get the ball into your opponent’s goal while
defending your own. Much like classic video game ‘pong’ Super Bounce follows
the same objective. But in Super Bounce, as the consumer plays long enough the
ball will increasingly gain speed. Therefore, the game becomes more intense as
the ball moves faster and faster thus making it harder hit. This makes the game
challenging and fun for the consumer.
